The “Welcome Home” cupcakes waiting for me when I returned home!
In this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge, the challenge is as follows: th
For this week’s challenge, share a photo with letters — no matter the alphabet. You can capture a neon sign, a sentence scribbled in an old phone booth, a random letter that’s seemingly out of place, or anything else. As you look through your lens, think about how your image might convey something bigger: a snapshot of how we communicate with one another, even if we don’t speak the same language.
For this week’s challenge, I chose some of the most perfect letters I’ve ever seen. They may not look perfect to anyone else, but they were a beautiful sight to come home to after a long time away. My fiancé made them for me to welcome me home from a 10 day trip I took without him. While he wasn’t my fiancé at the time, this was one more sign to me that he truly is my “perfect person”. When I left on my trip, I brought with me a small package from him which included a postcard for every day I would be away from him. They were postcards from South Dakota that he had carefully chosen and written notes on. Reading the new message each day was a way for me to feel close to him, a wonderful thing since we had very limited contact via e-mail. I think it truly was one of the best gifts I’ve received and one of the kindest things anyone has done for me. It made me feel special and loved that he took the time to prepare the lovely messages made by the letters on the postcards and the letters on the cupcakes! It was such a sweet (thoughtful AND yummy) gesture and one I will never forget. Now he is the one that is far away and I am looking forward to the day that I will welcome him home.

Thanks, Tina! 🙂 He is definitely a keeper!
Great response to the WPchallenge. I love the idea of a note for each day you were away, such a thoughtful and heartwarming way to stay in touch and feel connected.
Thank you, Eliza! It was definitely very thoughtful and so nice since we weren’t able to be in touch because of limited access to technology. 🙂
