Weekly WordPress Photo Challenge: Silhouette

Silhouette is the theme for this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge .  I immediately thought of one of my all time favorite silhouette photos, one I took at the Palace of the Popes in Avignon, France.  It was such a massive, solid structure and I love the contrast of the fragile rose silhouetted in the window.

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living.  We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.

My second photo is the silhouette of a palm tree with part of my wedding bouquet in the foreground.  It was such a beautiful, special day and I love the way this photo captures the occassion and the location!

  1. The rose in the first picture really softens the stern, stony structures in the background. Congratulations on your recent wedding. A lovely composition of flowers framing the palm tree.
