One of my newest creations
I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.
Neil Gaiman
If there is anyone out there still reading this, thank you for your perseverance! 😉 It has been FAR too long since I have posted. Aside from laziness, I really have no excuse except the one that most of us use….”I’m busy, busy, terribly busy.”. (Shout out to Veggie Tales, whose adorable song pops into my head every time I start thinking about all that is going on!) Now I want to go down a rabbit hole, watching ALL the classic Veggie Tales…..focus, Beth, focus! 😂
Let’s see…… What has happened since May of 2025? (Yes, that’s the last time I posted….Yikes!!)
- Had a beautiful finish put on the floor of our garage
https://www.diamondmcoatings.net/ If you’re not sure what that is, check out their site and click “Gallery” to see some of the amazing work they’ve done!
- Took two community education classes, one about Probate and another about Wills and Trusts. The instructor had started his own law firm and volunteered teaching community education classes. I think it’s great when people do that, so we chose him to put together a Living Trust for me and Ted. We have lost too many friends and family members and know how devastating it can be for those left behind, so we wanted to do this to ensure the best and smoothest transition when our kids are left with it.
- Enjoyed having Ted’s Dad and Stepmom and friend out to visit! We were truly blessed to have them here two summers in a row! This year, I think it’s our turn to make the trip!
- Celebrated our “ONE YEAR” Anniversary! It’s gone so quickly, but at the same time, I feel like I’ve known him forever. I guess that’s how it’s meant to be!
- Took an amazing vacation to Iceland/Norway/Denmark and Scotland via a cruise on Holland America – SUCH an amazing trip! I will post more about that at a later date. Suffice to say, it was everything I dreamed of and more. The fjords were incredible!!!
- We attended my company Christmas party in Deadwood which was catered by the same company that provided the meal at our wedding. It was wonderful and we got to keep the leftovers!

We hosted Ted’s family Thanksgiving which requires two turkeys 🦃🦃 My daughter made the trip from Germany and even though we didn’t spend Thanksgiving day together, we had some great bonding time and got to enjoy a day lunching and shopping!
- We went all out on our Christmas decor this year! It was a challenging year for outdoor decorations because of some insanely strong windstorms we had, but we managed to hang on to everything but a bow that went around one of the decorations!

We have a neighbor in the next cul-de-sac who has his entire yard and home covered in lights and even has Santa visit after Thanksgiving. We haven’t come close to catching him yet, but when the visitors came to visit his place, many stopped at our house. Ted even got a visit from a little elf who jumped out of a limo to present him with an award for “brightest display” that was an adorable paper award certificate tied to a candy cane holding Hershey’s kisses!

- We broke out the cookie cutters again this year. It’s been a few years since we made them. We had a good time decorating them, and an even more fun time eating them!!
- We had a lovely Christmas celebration with my sister and brothers and two of my three kids. Christmas day we spent the morning opening gifts with the three Forbes kiddos and then went to his brother’s place for a yummy dinner and more presents. It was a beautiful day and I believe it set a record for the high temperature.
- I’m still attempting to make a few needle crafted items from time to time. I found the little pot for the bear at the top of the post while browsing the Goodwill aisles. I thought it looked a lot like a honey pot, so I went from there and created the little bear happily nesting in his honey pot!
- Last night I finished a little kitty that I started a few days ago. It seems to take me longer lately to finish my little creations, but that’s probably because I get distracted by other things that need to be done around the house.

If you’ve made it this far, you’re all caught up on our 2025! We have several adventures planned for 2026 and I am making a resolution to be better at posting on WordPress. Maybe that resolution will stick this year 😂
I wish you all a joy filled new year filled with fun times and fond memories!
❤️ Beth
