Weekly Photo Challenge: Masterpiece

Beatutiful Rose at the Palace of the Popes in Avignon France

A photo from my magical moment at the Palace of the Popes in Avignon, France

My first attempt at the Weekly Photo Challenge!   I’ve seen the previous topics and enjoyed looking at the variety of interpretations but until now haven’t had anything come to mind that matched the title.  When I read this week’s topic, “Masterpiece”, I immediately thought of this photo.  I took this while touring the Palace of the Popes in Avignon, France.  (Yes, I know how fortunate I am to have had that opportunity!) There was a flower festival going on at the time and this lone rose in the window beckoned me.  To me, it’s like a scene right out of Beauty and the Beast.  With the impressive architecture and ancient feeling there, it would be the perfect setting for a fairy tale.

I was there last year and you’re right, it’s quite a masterpiece!

It definitely is and I wish I would have had a lot more time there. It’s so massive & hard to see it all on a tour. Thanks for commenting 🙂

The angle of framing is great. Makes an already interesting building so much more interesting!

Thank you halfcnote! It was such a magical setting and the photo seemed to just fall into place. I’m about as amateur as it gets in the photography world, but I love it when shots just set themselves up! 🙂 Thanks for commenting!
