My entry this week in the Weekly Photo Challenge: Carefree    These photos were taken in June, 2012 at the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport, OR.  It was a fun, relaxing, carefree vacation.  The dark rocks are basalt pebbles and when the tide came in they made a noise similar to applause.   We all had a great time and made many memories, so for me this is the perfect example of a carefree summer day! 🙂

The portraits are very cute. I love the description of the waves rolling in sounding like applause. 🙂

Thanks for the nice comment, Sheri! It was a beautiful spot and we were all enjoying and marveling at the unique noise the pebbles were making. We didn’t originally know about the pebble beach there, so it was a wonderful surprise 🙂

These photos bring back some very nice memories for me, having spent about a month in that area a few years ago. Great pictures.

Thank you! 🙂 That must have been wonderful to get so much time there! I have relatives in Oregon, so have visited a few times, but it’s never long enough! Thanks for visiting and for commenting! 🙂

We have a RV and we stayed in Florence and Lincoln City on the Siletz River. Beautiful area! I have spent a lot of time at Gold Beach on the Rogue River, and just about all over the state.

  4. Wow!! This beach is so beautiful!!!! Makes me want to be there. The light house reminds me of shutter island.

It definitely is a beautiful place! Makes me wish we had an ocean nearby. I just have to enjoy my photos and my memories till I get the chance to visit again! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and for the nice comment!

Awww, thanks so much, Wendy! 🙂 I try (not always succeeding, but still trying) to keep a positive mindset and picture positive possibilities, so I thought that would work well for a title 🙂 I was just perusing the pages of your blog. I love your photography! Thanks for visiting and for the sweet comment!

Such lovely pictures. But the best one has to be the third picture with the surf breaking on the beach with the rocks behind.

    • Beth says:

Thank you! Yes, I love the one with the surf! When I get the chance to be near the ocean, that is one shot I always try to get, but it usually eludes me. This time I got the timing down perfectly! 🙂 Thanks for the nice comment!
