I AM smiling πŸ˜‰

I don’t think you should try to be anything you’re not. If you’re not smiling all the time or always happy – I don’t think it matters. If you’re having a bad day, show you’re having a bad day. Don’t try to put up something that’s fake.

Some days, this is the closest to a smile that I can get ;)

I’m not having a BAD day, but just feeling a bit blah. 😐 I think it is the weather. January is often pretty gloomy. Staying at the office for lunch doesn’t help, but I have to do a bit of running later this afternoon. I definitely am looking forward to warmer, longer days and a few less obligations! I think it’s okay to have days that aren’t the cheeriest. Today’s high temp is only 14 degrees. Brrrr! I will let myself be a “gloomy gus” today and will hopefully be back to feeling a bit more chipper tomorrow!

You just have to be authentic. You can’t fake a smile. You have to do what you actually enjoy.

And weather is really not supportive πŸ˜€… It will pass eventually.

As they say “Smile more. It will make people wonder what you are up to.” I hear you on the weather getting you down. A gorgeous sunny day here today, but -22C with a windchill of -32C. We are staying indoors and hope to go hike the forest on Friday, when temps get up to -7C. I am ready for winter to be over, for sure. Allan

Hi Allan! Yes, thank goodness for sunshine, but warmer temps definitely help to boost the mood. Hoping the weather holds out for your Friday hike! I will smile more tomorrow. 😁 Lots of sun and 30F. Not the best, but an improvement from today! Take care and stay warm! πŸ˜ƒ

I’m with you there, Beth. I’ve been kind of blah myself and I think it’s due to the sunlight deprivation that comes with winter and the month of January. I so respect your realness, authenticity, and refusal to pretend. πŸ’–

Thank you so much, Cherie! 😊 I am 100% with you about the lack of sunlight! Going to work and coming home when it is dark makes it hard to be productive, especially after work. πŸ˜‰ We are heading in the right direction, anyway! 😊 I think without the blah days, we wouldn’t appreciate the good ones as much. Hope yours is a good one! 😁

It’s okay to not feel okay at times (which is the topic of one of my scheduled posts this January 😊). Blah days sure does come from time to time. Stay warm and happy.

Did you draw this gorgeous picture, Beth?

    • Beth W. says:

I did. 😁 I did this one a couple years ago after seeing The Addams Family musical. πŸ˜‰ It was my take on Wednesday Addams. πŸ˜‰β€πŸ˜Š I love her attitude. πŸ˜‰

No use in faking it, but letting a little smile slip in now and again can help the blues. 14 degrees! Yikes! Cuddle up and stay warm! I hope you are feeling better…sending big hugs.

  7. I read somewhere that faking a smile can actually cheer you up. Easier said than done, right?

    • Beth W. says:

I believe that is true! 😊 You’re so right, though, that sometimes that is easier said than done. πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for reading! I hope today brings you many things to smile about! πŸ˜ƒ
