Hooray for Puxatony Phil!

I heard that Puxatony Phil did NOT see his shadow this morning, which means we will see an early spring. Oh how happy I will be if this comes to pass! It hasn’t even been too bad a winter, but I am ready to see some new life in the ground and the trees!

For those curious, as I am, this marks the 21st time in the 138 year tradition of Groundhog Day that Phil has not seen his shadow. It is a rare and beautiful thing and is enough to give a little hope that brighter days will soon be here!

The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring.

Along the same theme of hope for the future, please send all of your positive thoughts and prayers that the right buyer will come along for my family home.Ted and I have put a lot of time into spiffing it up to make it a beautiful home for the next family. 💗🏡💗

In other news, I have a wedding date and am starting to get planning underway with the help of my beautiful neice Katelyn who is a wedding planner. I am looking forward to being able to do more of that (which can happen once the house is sold😉) The photo above is the centerpiece that I created as a model for what I want our guest table centerpieces to look like. I have decided that I enjoy flower arranging much more than I do scrubbing floors and painting!😄😄😄

I promise to try to be a little more disciplined in getting blog posts done. My tangle Tuesday got off track because I haven’t had time in the evenings to do my drawings. C’mon Spring & longer days!!

Happy Groundhog Day everyone!

  1. Early spring! Woo hoo! Your house looks gorgeous; good luck with selling it. Also the flowers look beautiful. Good luck with planning your wedding. My daughter is planning one for October and I see how much there is to do. Glad you have help.

Thanks so much, LuAnne! So far no takers on the house, but I believe that the right family will come along before too long 🙂 There is definitely more than I remember with planning a wedding. I think my mom did a lot of the planning for my first wedding. Thankfully we are keeping this one simple ❤ I wish you all the best with helping to plan your daughter's wedding!!

Great!!! I would love an early spring.

  3. Although I love deep snow, it’ll be nice to have an early Spring 🙂 if we do lol

My fingers are crossed that we do have an early spring. I like snow too, but will probably like it a lot more when I’m retired and don’t have to shovel…haha! 😜

Best of luck with the home. My childhood home still feels like my home. I can relate to how you feel. To leave out some details, I had to let my childhood home go. Just let it go. My dad spent years, and nearly all his money helping others that it hurt him, and he made enough to buy his home more than once. He refinanced so many times that I couldn’t rent it or sell it. It needed a roof & other things as well. I moved him into our home to care for him his final year, grabbing some sentimentals from there a few times. I’m glad you have good memories and the ability to benefit. I know working in it was difficult. Also, I love those large windows!

Oh, Dawn, I’m so sorry for what you went through with your Dad. That had to be super tough losing him and the home you grew up in as well. I can relate to having a dad that is overly generous (much more so than I would be) to the point of sacrificing things he needs himself. That was very sweet of you to care for him in his final year. I’m sure he felt how much you loved him and appreciated it. Thanks for the good wishes. I’m hopeful that a family will find it soon! 🙂

Thank you, Beth. I wish I had it to do over again because he could do nothing for himself except eat. Exhaustion and stress made me grumpy with him a few times.

Your home has a good energy and layout, yes, hoping deserving recipients find it.

What do you think? Thanks for visiting! Have a positive, productive day!
