Poke, poke, poke… 😅

I have been having so much fun with my new needle felting hobby. There just isn’t enough time in the day to devote to it, but I’ve been working on projects while I watch shows or listen to music in the evening.

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.

Creativity is a combination of discipline and a childlike spirit.

I love the fact that I can create just about anything using the wool, needles and a helpful image from Pinterest or helpful instructional YouTube video. I designed the little sheep below by myself, crafted the giraffe from a photo and freehanded the little white duck swimming on the water. I am open to any and all new ideas. The elephant above was created for a special little girl’s second birthday. I am still surprised and delighted that a simple lump of wool can turn into a cute little critter that bring me so much happiness.

Creativity is the way I share my soul with the world.

While I still have some pieces of the kits I have purchased and love having detailed instructions, I’m also having fun creating my own little itty bittys. I even made some felt donuts for a friend to use in her card making endeavors and was rewarded with some lovely cards in return. I am experimenting with different ideas and my hope is to craft Christmas gifts this year instead of purchasing them. Wish me luck! 😉☘🙂

Have you started anything new lately? Do you think it’s true that you need to have 10,000 hours in order to perfect a skill as Malcom Gladwell states in his book Outliers or are you more of the thoughts of author Josh Kaufman who says that 20 hours of practice is a great way to see results. He writes in his book The First Twenty Hours: How to Learn Anything Fast, that “…the idea of “mastering” a skill when you’re just getting started is counterproductive: it can be a significant barrier to exploring a new skill in the first place.” I side with Mr. Kaufman. While 10,000 hours of felting would surely help me to perfect my new skill of needle crafting, I believe I am off to a good start with the amount of practice I have had so far. I know it is a lot closer to 20 hours than to 10,000! 😄

If you’ve found a fun new pasttime, let me know in the comments. I surely don’t need another hobby, but I still think any day that I learn something new is a good day!!

You cannot truly be in love with your new husband if you’re still carrying your ex husbands last name. And you act like you’re two years old

Not sure why you care, GG, but I have taken my “new and improved” hubby’s last name. Guess you haven’t been stalking my social media since that was changed right after we got married. 😉 Are you stalking my WordPress site because buyer’s remorse has set in for you? Not all is well in paradise? 🤣You know, nobody is perfect, but if you communicate, just about anything can be worked through.

And, as for acting like I’m two years old, I’ll take that as a compliment. After all, in Matthew 18:3, Jesus says,
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

I really do hope that you will find happiness and fulfillment so that you don’t have to resort to posting “anonymous” mean comments here.
