Romeo’s Traumatic Day

Actually, my dog I think is the only person who consistently loves me all the time. ~ H.G. Bissinger

Dogs don’t rationalize.  They don’t hold anything against a person.  They don’t see the outside of a human but the inside of a human. ~ Cesar Millan

Thank heaven that dogs don’t hold things against people.  Today Romeo was neutered and I feel terrible putting him through that.  I know it’s for the best and will save him from some health risks and potential bad behavior in the future, but it is hard to see him in pain.  He’s been looking at me with those sad puppy dog eyes as if to say, “How could you?”.    The little collar keeps him from biting at the incision area, but he’s not happy at all having it on.  Thankfully he’s resting at the moment and I’m looking forward to having my peppy Papillon back before long!

  1. Poor guy! I hope he is doing better by now. He looks so cute, and I love the blanket! Sugar went through the bald stage too. Now, she is getting more fur than I know what to do with! I can’t believe how handsome Romeo is getting! His coat is going to be amazing when it comes in! I hope you both are doing well. I haven’t been on in a while, and I’m having fun catching up.

He’s over the trauma and doing great! He got through his second set of puppy training classes, but I think it was more of a “social promotion” since he was not behaving at all the last 2 classes. We’re struggling now with barking, especially when I have him at the office because we have people coming in the door fairly often. I don’t mind a warning bark, but Romeo needs to learn to stop when told. I’m hoping that as he gets older he will mellow out a little more 😉
I know what you mean about the coats coming in. I don’t even realize how much Romeo changes without looking back at pictures!
I think Romeo (as well as just about everyone else here) has been going stir crazy with our icky weather, but it seems to be taking a turn for the better and is feeling more like spring. We were even able to get out for a walk yesterday. Hopefully it lasts for a while. I hope all is well with you and the hubby and Misty and Sugar! 🙂

What do you think? Thanks for visiting! Have a positive, productive day!
